Manifesto

While other children were busy playing with their Nintendo and G.I. Joes, I spent most of my childhood engaging in “geeky” activities. We couldn't afford cable TV and our 19-inch Zenith television only received five channels from a bunny-eared antenna. That allowed me to experience a childhood like no other. If I wasn’t busy collecting insects in jars, building and launching model rockets, or playing with helium neon lasers, I was growing crystals, gardening, or photographing.

A typical weekend involved helping my father with various carpentry projects in the garage. It was there I developed a love for raw materials and my aesthetic sense. My father's Popular Science magazines fueled my curiosity for science and technology. Some of my early accomplishments include amassing a collection of honeybees at age eight, building my first pinhole camera at 10, a working model rocket at 10½, and at 11 years old building a power supply (breadboard + capacitors + resistors and all) for my helium-neon laser.

My desk may be a little messy at times but my work speaks of simplicity without feeling inhuman. "Out of clutter, find simplicity. From discord, find harmony. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity." This quote by Albert Einstein is my mantra. My own motto? "Emptiness Without Loneliness." My passions are in minimalist design, roaming around, snapping photos, eating, cycling, and keeping a casual blog of the things that inspire me. The world is a better place because of design, technology, and delicious food.
